James Graham grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and attended the High School of the Performing Arts. Working in and around the theater community, he originally made a living doing actors' headshots and promotional photos for punk rock bands and performance artists. After taking a job with the Brooklyn Papers, covering the crime and campaign beats, he began shooting freelance for news agencies both in the US and in Europe. His portraiture work gained him acceptance to the University of Arizona, where he studied at the Center for Creative Photography and earned him the prestigious Kodak Scholarship. While doing stills and portraits for film productions visiting Tucson, he began to be recruited by Los Angeles based producers and publicists, finally opening a studio just off of Colorado Blvd and being accepted as a member of the international cinematographers guild local 600. Because of his unique style and expert technique with new and emerging imaging technologies, he is in constant high demand as a unit photographer on films and television. RECENT PROJECTS:
Additionally, James has worked on videos, industrials, pilots and reality ; too many in fact, to list here. References on request Click Here to download James Grahams' electronic business card |
